College Financial Aid Night
We are pleased to present our first College Financial Aid Night at Seattle Lutheran on Monday, December 8, 2008, at 7 p.m. in the LRC.
Two Financial Aid Counselors are coming from Seattle Pacific University to do a presentation on Financial Aid. This can be helpful to students going to any college or university, not just SPU. The presentation is geared to both parents and students, especially seniors – others are welcome.
Financial aid can be an overwhelming process so we hope this program will provide useful information. They plan to cover the following topics:
- how students apply for financial aid
- the purpose of the FAFSA and the application process
- who is eligible for financial aid
- how is need based aid determined
- what types of financial aid programs are available
- the awarding process
- suggestions/resources if they do not qualify for need-based aid
