Welcome Back

For some of you it has been 30 years since you last set foot in Seattle Lutheran High School. On the surface things may have changed, but underneath it all much remains the same.

The teachers still care about each student. The quality of the education remains high. Opportunities abound, athletics (now including football) drama, choir, bell choir, etc.

As an alumni of SLHS you are joined by more than 1100 others out there in the great big world. Remember that you always have a place here. We will be sending out monthly Saints Alumni news to everyone who will listen, so tell you friends. Forward this on and pass email addresses back to the school. We are proud of what is happening here and we want you to be too.

Our alumni web pages will be undergoing an overhaul this winter, but until they are done I would recommend that you all go out an join Facebook.com. It is free and there is already a vibrant, active group of SLHS alumni there. Just make sure to list Seattle Lutheran High School as the high school you graduated from.

Listed to the left are some news items about the day to day life of the school and following this note are some items that should be of particular interest to all alumni.

Make sure to email me back with news of what's going on in your life. We would love to know what is going with you and keep all of the alum informed about births, marriages, job changes, etc. Shirley Vradenburgh is always asking about you.

Go SAINTS!

Cupcakes For Cora

Many of you remember Chrissy Hundley (now Cardenas) class of 1987. Her daughter Cora is 4 and has cancer. Chrissy's family and friends are putting on a benefit at SLHS to help with medical bills. Click here to find out more about Cora and how you can help.

30 Years of Confidence, Hope, Integrity and Passion

30 years ago the first Saints walked the halls of this school. On the night of November 10 we will be celebrating 30 steps that have brought SLHS to where it is today. Check out the web site to see the first 10 steps. The event promises to be exciting. The Saints choir, bell choir, jazz band, drama group and art students will be performing and showing their work, but the highlight will be all those in attendance. Already committed to be there are Bob Christian, Bob Matthews, Shirley Vradenburgh, Briuce Carlson and Barb Koppe. Let me know if you are planning to come and I will add you to the list.

Homecoming

If you didn't know it already we know it, we have football at SLHS. Last year the team made it to state for the first time. They have started the season with a win over the Darrington Loggers (our first time to beat them in 5 try's). Saturday, October 18 at 1:15 the Saints will kick off against Nassell for our annual Homecoming Game. Pull out your old letterman jacket and come down to West Seattle Stadium and cheer on your Saints.

Alumni Basketball

It has come to be known as the Battle of Ben-Gay. Sunday, November 23rd Coach Jack Menashe (1999) will host the annual Saints Hoops Classic. Email back and let us know if you will be there. We are at the point where we a going to try and put together an old-timers game and a young and fast game, both guys and gals, but we need you all to participate. Last year we had alum straight out of Stockton, CA travel up for the game. Dust off your high tops and bring your a game

Meet the New Teachers

The new school year brings a slate of new teachers. We welcome them to the Saint family. Take some time to click on each and get to know them better.
