
Track and Field Team Enjoys Success
Congratulations to the SLHS Track and Field Team for their fantastic performance this past weekend! The results do not fully express the accomplishments of this year’s team but stand as a testament to their dedication and talent.
Girls’ Results:
The girls finished 7th place overall- by far the best placing of any league or district team excepting Mt. Vernon Christian. Two relays made the finals with the 4×200 (Da’Zor Tilliett, Izzy Jones, Sage Klein, and Taylor Stordahl) taking 2nd place and the 4×100 (Macey Crooks, Izzy, Sage and Taylor) finishing 3rd ; both with season best times.
Our highest individual medal was a 2nd was earned by Macey Crooks in Pole Vault.
Taylor Stordahl placed 3rd in the 100m and 7th in the 200m making her the first SLHS athlete to medal in the maximum four events since 1998.
Other results included:
- 9th place by the 4×400 relay (Emma Stordahl, Macey Crooks, Da’Zor Tillett, and Izzy Jones)
- 9th Place by Izzy Jones in the 400
- 14th place by Emma Figgins in the Shot Put
- 14th place for Sage Klein in the 200
- 16th place for Sage Klein in the High Jump
Boys’ Results:
The boys 4×100 (Alex Okabayashi, Adam Eklund, Brandon Lulow, and Xavier Turner) placed 6th; Xavier Turner also took 7th place finish in the Long Jump.
Other results included:
- 11th place by Xavier Turner in the 100
- 12th place by Grant Ball in the 800
- 12th place by Michael Olson in the 3200
- 12th place by Nick Lidstrom in the Shot Put
- 13th Place by Matthew Smith in the Javelin
- 15th place by Brandon Lulow in the Javelin
