Academic Awards Night

Academic Awards Night, May 31st.

Please join the SLHS community for the annual Academic Awards Night and National Honors Society induction ceremony at Trinity Church at 7:00 pm. Various groups from within the community and outside the SLHS community will be presenting awards and recognition to our top students. Robotics and Drama students will be recognized with letters. The Confidence, Hope, Integrity and Passion Awards will be presented to one student from each grade level.  Mu Alpha Theta, SLHS’s math club will recognize it’s participants achievements. Valparaiso University will be awarding their “Excellence” award to a member of the 2018 class who displays excellent achievement in academics, activities, and service. The SLHS Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and the Phi Beta Kappa national honorary book award winners will also be recognized on the evening of June 1st.

 

The following day, students will have the end of the year BBQ. Students are dismissed at 12:25 pm. The shortened class will allow students to participate in the second annual “Stair Climb Competition and Fundraiser.” Yearbooks will be passed out, and students will have the opportunity to sign each others’ books the rest of the day. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on your perspective, it will be the last official day of school for the class of 2018.
