SLHS Summer Cheer
A Message from Coach Brestar
Seattle Lutheran Students and Families,
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer vacation! My name is Augustyna Brestar, and I will be working with the cheer team this summer, and potentially next school year. I am from Wisconsin but came to Washington two years ago to attend Northwest University. This next year I will be attending Seattle University, and am so excited to be in the area! I was a cheerleader all throughout high school, a collegiate cheerleader at Northwest University, and plan on being a part of the Seattle U cheer team as well. As we prepare to head into the 2019/2020 school year, there is much to be excited about — I am getting especially excited as the new cheer season approaches us. After a recent meeting with Carsen Broga, and cheer mom, Corie DeMers, I cannot wait to see what the new school year has in store for the cheerleading program. We discussed a lot at this meeting including some VERY important dates that we would love everyone to keep in mind:
First, we would love ANYONE who is interested in cheer-leading to join us on July 11, 2019 at 7 pm for a cheer meet and greet at Carsen’s house! Please join us as we discuss the vision for the cheer program and important future events. While this meeting is not required, it is extremely recommended for any athlete interested in cheer-leading this upcoming school year. A lot of information will be shared, and I look forward to meeting everyone! RSVP at coriedemers@gmail.com or 206-399-7325.
Second, cheer camp has been set for July 22nd-July 26th from 10 am to 1 pm at the Seattle Lutheran High School gym. The camp will be hosted by me, and I hope to be able to teach technique, jumps, stunts, a new dance routine, and new cheers. The camp is very important to the success of the cheer team and is highly recommended for any athlete interested in being part of the team this upcoming year.
Third, a weight lifting session is potentially scheduled for EVERY Thursday the rest of the summer at 7 pm. Come join me and the other cheer athletes as we work out together, and target important muscle groups that will help us become stronger cheerleaders! More strength = advanced stunts!
I know this is a lot of information for one email so if there are any questions feel free to contact myself at augustynab@gmail.com or 608-501-7337, Carsen Broga at Carsenbroga@gmail.com or 206-552-4758 or Corie DeMers at Coriedemers@gmail.com or 206-399-7325.
I look forward to seeing everyone at these events, and can’t wait to cheer on the Saints this upcoming school year!
Blessings,
Augustyna Brestar
